If you don’t want to lose your entire budget with Adwords here are some general tips I think you need to follow.

The first thing you want to make sure of is that you are making the correct bid for your keyword in Adwords. This should generally be half of what Google recommends. If you are trying to get the #1 position you need to be prepared to shell out some good cash and have a landing page that converts quite well so that you are not wasting your money. Adwords is typically a tough nut to crack when it comes to getting lower bids but it can actually be quite simple when you look at it for what it is: a robot. All that Google is doing is analyzing your pages content for keywords and adjusting your bid price in accordance with how relevant they believe your site to be. To ensure high relevancy you need to make sure that your title, heading, and body of page contain they keyword you are targeting multiple times without becoming spammy. This is easy to do if you are creative and Adwords will reward you for doing so.

Grabbing Their Attention

The next step is to create attention grabbing headlines to bring your customers/audience in. Go against mainstream wisdom here and do things that are controversial if you simply want high traffic. For instance, you can be humorous or make an intriguing title with a little-known fact.

This should get you started and get you in the frame of mind you need to be to create successful Adwords campaigns.
