A lot of people ask me how to get more traffic to their site. Well, the first and easiest way is to write about topics people are going to search for! If you’re writing about cats in Mississippi the chances of as many people finding you are next to till because barely anyone will be searching for the things you write about versus writing about something popular such as Twitter. Now I’m not telling you what to write about and I actually don’t like writing for “computers,” but it pays to know how the search engines work and why you’re blog about strange things isn’t quite the success you thought it would be. This is how site’s like Perez Hilton and other various celeb gossip sites become huge – they are writing about things that get some of the highest search volume on the internet: celebrities. So if you are going to start a blog and specialize in something try not to make it so focused that you can’t incorporate popular things that get a lot of traffic into it. All that’s really needed is a little thinking outside the box and you can actually make this work with nearly everything. “How My Rock Band Has More Fans Than Metallica” or “Three ways to lose the weight like Lindsay Lohan” are ways to spice up your articles and get more search traffic as a result.
