Videos Make You Less Boring – Use Them.

As technology gets better and better and finds cheaper ways to host greater bandwidths and compress file sizes, it’s becoming increasingly for those of us in the online marketing industry. Consider things like the evolution of simple digital cameras and MP3 players and the amounts of memory and storage capabilities and their prices compared to what they were five years ago and that same kind of evolution has taken place everywhere else. It can only be estimated as to how many blogs and content rich personal pages are out there. What is known is that these pages have become increasingly rich with arrays of media that just couldn’t exist on such a scale five or ten years ago.

If you have a blog, then most likely your pages already have images. If you’ve been blogging for a decent amount of time, then you probably remember that you couldn’t use images, or that your bandwidth use was limited in size. That’s all changed and your blogs can now be rich with all kinds of media, from songs and podcasts to videos and clips. What’s so great about all this advancement is that you don’t have to be some kind of expert to include videos or podcasts on your blog. All of these sites have made it so simple that it’s just a matter of uploading your files.

A video can really set apart your marketing efforts online. Of course, there will probably be a time when a video is a necessity and everyone has one, but for now, it’s not the case. Increasingly, more and more people are using video, but as it stands, the majority simply is not. There are a lot of stay at home participants that simply don’t have the tools or skills to create a video and so that really leaves the door open for an opportunity to take out the competition and put you on the next level.

There are so many video sites these days that are free to join. You’ve more than likely visited some of them for a laugh or while seeking out some information. There are tons of different types of videos out there that can be used to benefit your marketing campaigns and really make a difference in your sales numbers. There are video sites out there that focus on specific types of content or styles. There’s the obvious humor sites which are pretty popular and fail untapped as far as marketing goes, because it’s hard to be funny and market a product at the same time. If you can do that, then that’s probably your ticket. There’s also a lot of how to based sites that show user created videos designed to teach you things. That can range from how to install a door to how to be better at online marketing.

Maybe you’re a little intimidated by the thought of creating a video, and that’s totally understandable. There are still some things you can do to get your site related to videos and get you into the loop. This is a fairly technique to do and involves you being active within a network of like-minded people or people interested in the same topics. You need watch videos and sign up to feeds for videos as well as links that are relevant to what you’re marketing. Get involved in discussions and provide links on your site to videos you’ve found that are related to what you’re doing. You may even be able to create a network and relationship with the original creator of the video you’re interested in.
